I have been experimenting with various brands and tbh, most of them are horrible but one make that stands out is Taylors Rich Italian blend 8 which is very similar to the blue Nespresso pod (vivalto Lungo - which seems to be the one that everyone settles for after trying all the others).

They cost £3 for ten capsules and of course there's no delivery to pay.

Do any of you use the Nespresso machine and have you found any suitable replacements?
Same same mate, Asda do a good range of coffee pods, Taylor’s are nice and my choice , Costas.. L’or and some cheap ones whose names I can’t remember..
I don’t know why Nespresso charge so much

Re: Replacement Nespresso pods

I use Nespresso pods, have tried other brands made for Nespresso machines but find they aren’t always compatible. And the other brands weren’t any cheaper. I buy mine with free postage and sometimes buy Nespresso pods in my local Waitrose.

Ristretto is my favourite pod,

We bought a Nespresso machine several months ago and like the coffee. However, since finding comparable ones in the supermarkets, we have bought them there, as they taste pretty similar to the Nespresso ones. Many, in fact, are £2.50 for ten, so that appeals even more.

I think I'll watch out for the one above that you recommend. Thanks.

Re: Replacement Nespresso pods

Hi

I have a very simple coffee maker, sits on the hob.

Absolutely brilliant, spend your money on the coffee, not the machine.

That's interesting. I didn't know Nespresso was available in Waitrose. I don't get to go there much these days but will have a look next time.

I agree. I have ordered on Sunday night and it's been there the next morning.

There's nothing wrong with Nespresso as such but they never really give any incentive to buy from them. They often offer money off new machines but who needs anew machine when there's nothing wrong with the one they have? They should offer a free pack here and there. The only thing I got free from them was a box of chocolates for answering a survey on the phone but I did have to remind them about it.

Sorry, that should be ROAST 8 not Blend 8.

That's our favourite too, we've bought a second machine for our caravan we missed our morning coffee at the weekends. The Americano is our normal coffee but I can be persuaded to drink a caramel latte quite easily.
