But there used to be a lot more including schoolkids.

I never had a denim cut - didn't want one for some reason.

Schoolchildren around here don't seem to wear jackets over their uniforms, even in winter, or when it is raining. It probably isn't cool to do so!

I love my short waisted jackets, when it's really cold,a waterproof ski jacket.

I wear a jacket which is appropriate for the prevailing weather conditions, in a style which is relevant to the current activity and in a colour which I fancy .....

To be honest, the group that I go with sticks to the lower slopes, so, more often than not, we walk round a fell rather than over it .....

Ditto bird watching. I have a very expensive Barbour for Winter & a lighter weight Paramo for other times, if no jacket required I have tees that won't frighten the birds. I tend to buy men's jackets as I find women's too short.
