This is a cracking idea for a photo thread. I love unusual buildings, and the techniques used to build old churches and the history behind them.You can't beat a good flying buttress.
Hunky Punks on a church but a few thousand paces from R Gate.
The Rock of Ages at Burrington Combe, Zumerzet, where the reverend Toplady sheltered from a storm and was inspired to create the hymn of the same name.
Personally I think he was geographically challenged as not 50 metres further up the combe is a cave he had already passed on his journey where he would have found much better shelter.

The Lady Chapel's stained glass windows were designed and made by Paul Woodroffe. His niece was our neighbour and great friend in Farnborough, Hampshire. I have a booklet containing all the stained glass windows he designed and made in the UK and US.
