Green mashed potato

One of the mums of graces friends just rang saying her daughter wants graces mums green mash for lunch and she has no idea what that is. This is a girl won't eat vegetables so I cook mashed potatoes and brocolli and mash them together for green mashed potatoes.

We had a laugh because this lady imagined I was stuffing artificial colours into her daughter and she hadn't imagine brocolli as her daughter is so against any veggies.

Re: Green mashed potato

I am sure that we all try little tricks to get kids to eat veg and it looks like giving the dishes a special name really works. Well done Julie!

That's a great idea Julie
I remember when my children were a lot younger I used to make home made pizzas and hide all sorts under the grated cheese!

Yes we do the carrot mash too. It's amazing how many kids come here and don't even realise they are eating vegetables.

My favourite mash is yellow. Cold mash with sweet piccalilli, delicious with salad.

Not allowed Broccoli as it contains vitimin 'K', which for me is poison!!! - However I do quite often make an 'orange' mash with sweet potatoes, parsnips, and swede or celeriac - goes extremely well with Haggis!!!
