I don't separate the finances from the foundation because it was firstly an economic union. Originally to stop the spread of socialism post-war. The increased political weight came later and IMO is what has weakened it.

Politically it can survive us but will fall apart if France leaves.

Hi

The EU would be a better place if the UK stayed in and France and Germany left.

We could then get back to a nice simple free trade area without all the rest of the rubbish.

My oncologist told me that my positive attitude had contributed greatly to my survival and I have now been clear of cancer for 6 years.

What a shame that most British people can't show the same positive attitude towards our future after Brexit! Britain didn't win WW2 by sitting around saying " Life will be awful after this war", they got off their behinds and pulled together to make sure this country became strong and safe again.

Maybe we should all learn from their example.

Hi

The problem with that Twink is that we had a much better bunch of Politicians then.

This lot, at least many of them, seem only to be interested in what is best for their own personal agendas.

I cannot see either Corbyn or Fallon being the next Churchill.

Well maybe they will learn from the kick up the behind that we gave them, when they were so sure we would vote to remain in the EU.
Politicians are our servants, so it is up to us to remind them of this with our votes and correspondence, when they get things wrong. If our politicians aren't the type of people we want, perhaps we should make more effort to show them what we do want... especially near election times.

I'm looking forward to the 8th June and sincerely hope to see certain MPs receiving a well earned kick up the backside.

There are one or two who I would dearly see lose their seats, preferably permanently.

Then the next thing on the agenda would be the complete reform of the Lords.
