The EU is a vastly bigger economy than the UK.
A Hard Brexit will hurt both, but until we do new Trade Deals, and those take years to arrange, it will hurt our economy more than the EU Economy.
This does not mean we should not leave, just that we should be realistic about the next few years.
Juncker and Co have done their sums, that is why they are so arrogant.
.
As of 2015 Exports from UK to EU 44% =
£ 230 billion /from EU to UK £290 billion.
80% of UK economy comes from providing 'services'
Another part of exports and imports is related to raw materials for example. We import raw materials, parts of ,or half finished products , do whatever is necessary and export them back again. It's all false economy constructed purely to keep the EU countries ticking over and providing employment for each of the 27 .
Oddly enough when looking at charts,in most cases, Germany seems to be the greatest beneficiary of all things in all categories.
In the same year for countries outside the EU, UK exports that year were valued at £288.2 billion, while imports were worth £257.1 billion.
At the same time the EU is the world's biggest economy, but its share of global GDP is falling as other countries are becoming less dependant upon the trade.
So, re-building our economy that has been shredded for the benefit of all the other EU member states, to a point where it could have almost become impossible to regain our Sovereignty , will hugely benefit our trade with the rest of the world .
As I have said before , a hard Brexit is the only way, a soft Brexit could see a deal much the same as David Cameron returned with, and that resulted in absolutely nothing. Merkel and the EU were not intending to give us anything then, much to their disappointment now, but they are hardly likely to give us anything more with a soft Brexit. They need to realise that blackmail and threats, do not equate with the British public. They still don't get it, do they ???
Juncker is fiddling whilst Rome burns.
