Thanks Swim, I am seeing the doctor at 11pm but I won't hold my breath waiting to get a correct diagnosis. I will let you all know later, unless she rushes me in to hospital.... because you can't survive if your insulin doesn't work.

Nom please make sure you keep a check on your blood sugars. Infections, like colds, are bad enough but while your immune system is dealing with them you become less able to fight off infections that could be a lot worse.
Look after yourself.

Hi folks, I managed to escape going to hospital, but only because my test showed no keytones. It seems that I have also got a urine infection so need to massively increase my insulin for a few days... so it wasn't the insulin not working, it was my body trying to deal with 2 infections. Lets hope the anti-biotics, she has given me, deal ,with both
