Re: Pushbutton start and keyless entry

Could not see the point of keyless ignition. What is so hard about putting a key in the lock then turning it - or as variant, turn on ignition with a key then press a button?

I got briefly marooned driving a keyless car. The owner was in the passenger seat and I dropped him of at the shops. Of course he had the key in his pocket so after parking by his house I could not (a) lock the car or (b) get it started again.

Proper ignition switch, proper handbrake, unassisted steering so I can feel what the tyres and road are doing.

I have electric power steering on mine...not too sensitive like some cars but I do know what you mean about feel....and it doesn't fail if the car cuts out.

That's odd, normally a car with keyless entry has a very audible alarm if the keys leave the car whilst it is running, mine certainly leaves you in no doubt...

Mine too, Barry! If engine is running and I shut the door to finish off clearing windows of ice and snow, for example, with the key still in my pocket, I've had the beep beep beep of the alarm warning.
