Re: Dough in breadmaker risen too high!

Looks yummy jazzi, you could scoop out middle of the doughy one and use it as a recepticle for veggies, or mince with a nice gravy back in oven for few minutes. My lot love that.

Taken it out of oven now. Very over done, but I suppose if I slice off the first bit, the inside may be better.

Like the idea of filling with mince! Yum.

Re: Dough in breadmaker risen too high!

Match point we found most important to us was getting one made a traditional shaped loaf not higher than it was long, if that makes sense. You need to decide what you want it to do really as some are easier to add ingredients near end of kneading than others, ours isn't very good at that but the shape was more important than adding things.

Mine is by Woolworths, called Elevation. It just makes bread. Elder sis, I seem to remember, had one that could also make jam! I wonder if it's time for me to upgrade?

It tasted good, with Anchor and some marmalade.

Re: Dough in breadmaker risen too high!

A bit of googling and think I remember the original problem I had.
Breadmaker makes bread.. I want a baguette say 2 hours after I wake up.
minimum effort from myself. Here's my dream breadmaker.
I add all the ingredients night before,
wake up to some dough in the breadmaker
manually bash dough into shape then let it rise again.
shape the dough & put shaped baguette into the oven to cook.
20 mins later job done..
so it sounds like I need a dough maker .. possibly

Matchpoint, my maker gives you the option for setting it to 'dough', allowing you to shape and cook how you want.

I think with my oven cooking method I may have set the temp too high, and the time. I had no idea what to put.
