As part of OH latest checks and tests for his FTD he has been referred to our local MH team.

They have a specialist unit for older people and the problems that they face.
So I got the appointment through on Saturday, its for next Monday morning , this was after me saying I cant be there on a Monday or Tuesday morning.
The letter tells us to fill in the regestration form the medication list and the questionaire...

No questionaire.

So today I rang them to change the appointment.
Nice girl called Marloes answered the phone. I told her I needed to change the appointment because I cant do Monday mornings .

What about the following Monday at 10am she says...
No I cant do Monday before 12 noon.. ie monday Morning...
Oh ok what about the afternoon then?


We got the appointment sorted..
Then I mentioned the questionaire..

No thats right I didnt send one because we had run out..
Do you want one? she says

Well if you think its important I think it might be a good idea.. I said

Well it does ask things that might be important for your treatment she replied.. ..pause....
Shall I pop one in the post to you then?

Yeah you do that Marloes that would be really nice..

Oh ok thanks..I will then,,,Ill do it today ok?


I dont know about OH needing help they should start with the blooming staff daft as a brush that one!

It's madness cass, but not unique in the NHS sadly.

I just hope he gets his tests and any treatment, good luck to you both.

I dont know why this receptionist was so dim.

Im am not a lover of asking for outside help at the best of times so this has not got off to a good start. I mean, if these people cannot organise an intake form and an appointment how are they going to sort out anything more complicated?

However I did ask the specialist at the memory clinic for a bit of help and this was her best idea so Im going to see it through at least until Ive heard what they have on offer.

The post has been today and theres no questionaire so I wonder if Marloes has forgotten to post it?

It gets nuttier cass I do feel for you I often think if I did my job as badly I'd get the sack !
