My Flowering Cordyline

I'm feeling quite proud of my flowering Cordyline. We bought it as a small shrub six or seven years ago, it must like its new position because this year its flowered for the first time. Its a pity its in the back garden so no-one but us can see it!

Lol, not sure Mups. Hopefully as it grows taller the flower will be at conservatory roof level! I wonder if it will flower every year now, hope so.

That's interesting thanks Mups, so they can grow quite tall. Forgot to mention that the bees love it!

I had to look Phormium up TessA, I've seen the plants but I guess I assumed they were Cordyline, like mine. The conditions must have been perfect for them this year.

Val, what a wonderful sight! I love Cordylines! My favourite is, 'Torbay Dazzler'!!
If l see them growing and has shed its seeds, l pick them up and grow them!
I grew over thirty once and donated them to a charity fair. I have others in my garden or in my greenhouse!!

Re: My Flowering Cordyline

I don't know what mine is called Art, its probably a bog standard one but when I bought it as a small shrub I'd no idea it would grow into a beautiful flowering tree! Knowing how much plants cost, the charity fair would be delighted with your gift. I must look out for seeds round my tree!
