The MRNA ones. Biontech is one Moderna is the other. Moderna has more side effects but easier transit.

Australia is watching with interest and hopes to learn from the roll out in Europe and the US.

Re: Covid-19: Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine approved for use next week in UK

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55376727

Jeremy Hunt, chair of Parliament's health select committee, when asked about reports that the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine could be approved for use in the UK by the end of the year, Mr Hunt said that would make "a massive difference".

He said the UK had doses of the Pfizer vaccine to "keep us going until the end of January" but then there wouldn't be another shipment until March so having the Oxford vaccine in January would mean the UK could "keep the rollout going at its current pace".
What .....

The UK has taken delivery of 800,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine so far. That is enough for 400,000 people as each recipient has to take two doses 21 days apart.

If the Oxford vaccine is not approved then the UK is in dire straits .....

Apparently 130k people have had their first shot so far. The reason for the consignment delays was down to a supply chain issue and not the fault of the UK. There was a shortage of lipid nanoparticles due to input scarcity. Apparently these particles are produced in Canada. But the manufacturer says it's all set to continue deliveries to the UK and does not envisage a shortage going forward. The Oxford vaccine should hopefully be approved soon too (fingers crossed).

The number will probably be nearer 200,000 by now:

More than 130,000 people have been vaccinated in the first week of the UK's vaccination programme.

Minister Nadhim Zahawi, who is in charge of vaccine rollout, tweeted 137,897 people had been given their first doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech jab between 8 and 15 December.
