Re: Water softener
They can fit under kitchen sink, ours is in cupboard in my husbands room as that is where our water supply comes in. It's fitted to the mains pipe and softens using tablet salt. You can rent them or buy out right.Re: Water softener
When we had our heating system replaced, we also had a water softener installed, as our water is very hard in this area. It is a top of the range Kinetico costing £1000 - and we have had it for 10 years with no problems. I buy the salt blocks for it once a year - I get them delivered, as they are very heavy. It's fitted under the kitchen sink and the cold water drinking tap is the only tap in the house not softened.Re: Water softener
We used to have terrible lime-scale in our last property but here, only a few miles away it's not nearly as bad. Lime-scale in water, according to some experts, helps contribute to our calcium and magnesium requirements when we drink it. I don't think it is very good for hair or skin. I also think it might be bad for washing machines.
