I have never subscribed to any threads, but this morning I had 23 notification emails in my inbox !
They were quickly deleted and I visited my Profile and sorted it out OK.....strange happenings !
Obviously some of us hate them, but I appreciate them.
It's a little different now, though. Instead of taking me to the first new post in the thread, it takes me way back to the beginning. But I can't complain, it's better than not getting them at all.

That's funny; I found that this morning. A few notifications that took me back to the beginning of threads I had subscribed to, appeared. It seems to be back to normal again now, though.
I never turned them on in the first place, but after Azz's tinkering I did check to make sure I wasn't about to be bombarded with emails.
To each his/her own, eh?
When I turned my 'puter on this morning I had 75 flippin' email from OFF!!
I have now selected the 'No email notification' thingy, but don't understand the difference between that and 'don't subscribe' thingy.
Can someone explain the difference simply please?

Now, instead of getting an email whenever a thread that you are subscribed to (which happens when you reply to the thread) has a reply posted in it, instead you just get a weekly update of such threads.
..you will get lots of notifications once a week by default to every thread in which you have posted.
Once the default option is turned off you can still subscribe to individual threads using the little box at the top of each thread (where it says 'Thread Tools' with little down menu box) or in the 'Thread subscription' box underneath a post when replying...
And I received two emails this morning saying I'd subscribed to two threads, even though I know I cancelled all subscriptions. I presumed Azz had been tinkering about again!!
