I was in work preparing lectures for the new term. A colleague came in and said one of the Twin Towers has collapsed in New YOrk. I remember sayding "How cn that happen, they are huge, I've been out on the top of them" He said " You wont be able to now". We went to the staff room and turned on the TV as the horror and reality unfolded. What struck me was the following day no one mentioned it. We all got on with our work in total silence. I beleive we were all too shocked at what had happened it was difficult to internalised and comprehend.

A day I will never forget, when the planes struck I was getting ready to go to work looking after a house full of girls some of whom had been on an economics trip to the World Trade Center just months before .One of the girls in our house had a Mother who was part of a delegation attending a conference in the World Trade Center, we spent a painful few hours waiting to hear she was safe.
A friends son is a graphic designer living and working in NY, he saw the whole nightmare unfold.
It's a very small world really .

There's also one where they claim it was a terrorist attack, one carried out by Al Qaida......led by some bloke called Bin Laden who later died in a hail of bullets some years later.I think I'll make an (un)educated guess and believe all the above, even if it sounds a little far fetched
