Why not just put out a little notice saying

" To all slugs, there is a better feeding place next door"

Reminds me of the time one winter when a snail banged his shell on a back door as if knocking.
The man answered the door and saw the snail there.
The snail said " can I come in for a couple of minutes just to warm up?"
The guy said "NO" and kicked the snail right down to the bottom of his very long garden.

Next winter the snail again knocked on the door and when the man answered

the snail said "What did you do that for?"


Think about it and you will get the joke

I remember telling my friend's husband that joke and he was in hysterics. He even phoned his son in England to tell him the joke Although it wasn't a slug, it was a tortoise who turned up a year later.

We've just treated the vegetable patch with nematodes (Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita ) which are a slug parasite. Well see how they work.
