Laptop

Got a Toshiba laptop for a Christmas present.......not getting on with it at all. It's Windows 10 does seem easy it's faffing around trying to find or remember where things are. Will have to play more with it I'm still using IPad when I should be sorting myself out with that.

Re: Laptop

Each change I make these days I put away the past item so it forces me to get used to the new one. It's the only way just keep using it.

Re: Laptop

I hate everything from Windows 7 up. Why all the extra steps?

I've had a Lenovo 8.1 for Xmas and I don't think I'll ever work out how to save a photo again.

Don't forget that right-clicking on the Windows icon is a quick way of getting to some useful places on the system:

Do you have a boxed Windows 7 installation disk with a key number? If so, I think you'd have use that and choose to format Windows 10 away during the Windows 7 installation procedure. If you haven't got these, you'd probably need to buy a Windows 7 installation disk and key ..or perhaps just buy a key and download the installation disk from Microsoft:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/soft...nload/windows7

I'm pretty sure that the Windows 10 key wouldn't work if you use it on a Windows 7 installation.

If you decide to do this, you'd probably need to read up on how to avoid the upgrade to Windows 10, or ask here about it once the decision is made.

Edit: Apologies. Windows 10 mistakenly referred to here when it should have been Windows 8.1. If the computer came with Windows 8.1 installed, it would likely be a clean installation rather than an upgrade. This being the case, the above will still apply. Still going to need a Windows 7 key and installation disk.

Re: Laptop

Still not had chance to fiddle much but I do like Windows 10 so I'm sure it will all fall into place.

Re: Laptop

I've just upgraded from Windows 8 to windows 10, and I don't see an awful lot of difference, so don't know why I bothered. But everything is working, and though I had trouble with my wifi printer I've managed to get it working now.
