We will just have wait and see if he's a man of his word.

Which might not be all that long the present government appears to have a very short shelf life.

Ah, the naivety of the left, ever hopeful of a free lunch at someone else's expense. What you folks will never learn is that governments don't have any money of their own, they just spend taxpayers or borrow in their name. Whatever happens the bills will arrive and our children and grandchildren will have to pay. Crackers.....

Hi

The problem with Corbyn is that he is relying on a totally failed economic system.

The other problem is that he cannot add up.

He can deliver in all his give away promises immediately, that is easy.

He cannot however pay for them.

Re: Government buffoon???

The thing about Boris, having read articles by him and a book on London's history, is that he has the ability to form a well reasoned and well researched argument and point of view which should not be overlooked and simply discarded.

It must be frustrating for him as well as others that he doesn't seem quite so capable to reproduce this during verbal interactions.

There are many politicians who have the gift of the gab when on the spot, and come out with the usual obfuscated responses but still somehow manage to sound credible, but are incapable of forming well rounded and informed views on paper.

Who do you trust more to run a country? Those who sound good on radio/TV, or those who can form reasoned and evidenced arguments on paper with a sense of self deprication and humility of their own importance?

Come on RM we are hardly talking gay repartee here. Whilst we are all sorely tempted from time to time just to call someone a blithering idiot or worse, to rise above it can infuriate the offender even more I find, plus then there's a chance of the subject of the OP surviving for continued debate. I must say that I do find name calling quite tedious in a serious thread.

I don't dispute that he's a clever man, well informed, a linguist, historian etc etc.
If it weren't for Brexit all would be ok.

Trouble is he's an eccentric, and Europeans don't 'do' eccentricity.
Neither do Americans now I come to think of it, they just don't get it!

Re: Government buffoon???

Hi

Boris is clever at manipulating voters, hence the £350 million a week battle bus.

He has proved incredibly inept when dealing with the real world.

He has yet to deliver on a single one of his promises.

He has failed miserably with his promise of an early trade deal with India.

He was totally ignored by the G7 about his plans for Russia.

He is not getting his promised early free trade deals with Australia or Canada either.

Well as I said before I have suffered far worse on here. I certainly wasnt name calling as I recall. I find it difficult to believe that the extreme criticism and ridicule that Boris receives can be considered serious debate. It seems a long way short of that..
