Ok all you clever clogses who can speak Spanish...If I seriously wanted to learn Spanish and be able to communicate in a basic way, is there an app? Is it an easy language to learn?
And don't tell me to go to evening classes can't stand them.

If you translate what has been typed, in back to English, you would get exactly the same, so it would make sense but my Spanish friend says it often doesn't.

Ruthio, DO go to evening classes.

It's actually quite fun sitting at a school desk again and you get to meet a bunch of people. It's the best way to learn. Trying it from books is useless. You need the constant feedback of a teacher to correct your pronunciation and written mistakes. I did classes for about 4 years. Loved it.
I can get by pretty well in Spain when I visit and am not seen as a typical bloody tourist.

I think the BBC used to do a free online course for Spanish.
