The Chase

Tonight there was a question.
An Oxford Think Tank stated there was a percentage chance, the Human Race would be extinct, by 2100, and the choices were 0.19%, 1.9% and 19%. 19% was the correct answer, is this possible?

Exactly, but the extensions will be, or maybe not.

Did they say what the cause would be , i.e. no food, disease , war and did they say why these super brainy people can't come up with a solution instead of pessimistic calculations ?

That game show annoys me. Nobody ever seems to win !

Re: The Chase

Ann Heggarty excelled herself last night getting almost every question right in the final chase......And what a sense of humour she's got.....

Chances are that human life will be extinct before then Spitty, and if we are still here, life will not be as we know it! (Jim)

Re: The Chase

I also think it possible that human life will reduce by 19%, but there will be many causes.

It seems that never a week goes by, these days, without a disaster like flood, hurricane, tsunami or earthquake happens.

There seems to be war or terrorist activities constantly, and that means many people are killed

In other parts of the world there is great famine, probably caused by hotter, drier climates. They say that food shortages will hit the rest of the world soon.

Many of these problems will lead to poor health, and as the Ebola crisis demonstrated, it will only take a few people to spread awful diseases across the world.

We were all warned about this , but nobody took the warnings seriously!

Re: The Chase

The Chase is totally rigged. The Chaser effectively gets 20 secs more than the contestants in the final chase.

They only win if the Chaser lets them.

How do you mean realist? I have always thought that the chaser's time seemed longer, so one day I timed it with a stop watch (I know how sad that sounds) and it was exactly the same as the contestants.

I also saw that and picked the correct answer. I was not surprised that the answer was 19%.
