Re: Oh so quiet !

We really do get so attached to our pets don't we. To the point where we worry like hell we they become ill and far worse still its heartbreaking when we lose them. I vowed some years ago that I would never have another dog till I could be sure it would outlive me...she is over three years old now!!

I must admit the vet said she took the separation from us today much better than we did to her, he seems to know me too well

I am terrible when my dogs are at the vets Julie so I know how you feel .
I always have in the back of my mind the occasions when I have come home with just a bill and a collar

I always obsess about their not understanding it's for their own good. Poor things know only love and kindness and suddenly they are having things done to them they won't comprehend, and of course those times we come home without them and very heavy heart

Always makes me laugh when the vet says that...No chance! But on the plus side, that must mean she's doing fine

That's what worries me too Jule, and when they're scared and need us most - we've disappeared. At least you can explain to a human being that you'll be back later. I also hate driving home with an empty car.
My old German Shepherd used to get so stressed when they tried to take him away from me, that my lovely vet used to let me stay with him until he was very sleepy, then I would quietly slip away. I felt better that way too, as it tore me up leaving him so upset.

Re: Oh so quiet !

Took her to have the dressing took off and while they soaked it and pulled it off she spent the time licking the vets nose - seems she doesn't bear a grudge and isn't scared of him so that makes me feel a bit better.

Re: Oh so quiet !

Glad to know your little dog is doing well. We always have to take both dogs to the vet, even if only one needs attention. The reason being that madam ChoCho (Shitzu) simply can't bear Muffin going anywhere without her and she screams, howls and hurls herself at doors if we take him and leave her home.
