Dog Awarded

Just to try and balance things up a bit, I would like to tell you about something I read today:

"Ten year old Charlie Riley was walking with his Mum and their German Shepherd/Collie cross, when an out of control lorry flew onto the pavement, heading straight for Charlie. In a terrific act of bravery, the dog leapt in front of the runaway lorry, pushing Charlie out of the way and taking the full brunt of the collision himself.
Geo, the dog, suffered severe injuries from his act of bravery, including a broken back, shattered legs and damaged lungs. Despite vet bills amounting to £8,500, the family never considered having Geo put to sleep. Now, a year later, he has recovered well and is a happy and healthy dog again.
The family said Geo is a big part of the family and a real hero".

How lovely to hear of a happy ending for a change, and what a wonderful dog.

Re: Dog Awarded

Yes Mups dogs, like humans, come in both good and bad versions.

Wonderful story, as Alan said good and bad versions available. Sadly we only seem to get the newspapers printing the bad ones though.

A lovely story Mups and just one of many we could post about the amazing things dogs have done to help their human companions .

Re: Dog Awarded

Yes, what a wonderful dog. There was a picture of the poor dog laying there with his legs all bandaged up and the young boy he saved laying with him all cuddled up. Wish I could post it for you, but I can't.
