Thats a beauty Paddy you can almost feel the velvet texture of the rose looking at that picture. Plus the deep green in the leaves is great in the background.

Beautiful....can almost breathe in the fragrance, whether there is one or not.

Darcey Bussell is a lovely rose I agree, Paddy. Lovely deep, rich colour and beautiful fragrance too.

I have two of them, but not climbers.
Mind seem prone to black spot though.
Do yours?

They do, Mups. Have to be really vigilant, spray fortnightly and cut off and dispose of any leaves showing the slightest spotting.

Morning Paddy.
Do you alternate your sprays, or use the same one all the time? Just wondering about the immunity to the same chemical?

p.s. just peeped at your album and you have a very pretty garden.

Beautiful Paddy if only the blooms lasted longer than a few days...

Keep pruning, Meg. I clip off blown roses regularly and new ones keep coming right through until September, or even later sometimes. Works with most modern roses, but not with older strains such as damask, which will only bloom once, regardless of what you do.

Re: Raindrops on roses

I use nothing but "Rose Clear", Mups. It seems to be effective year in, year out. I do spray ALL rose shrubs preventively though as a defence against infection.
