Re: Looks like Clegg and others have been telling lies about EU Army
If there ever was an EU army and we were post-brexit, there's no reason we wouldn't join whatever missions they undertake. We are after all allies. I'm not a fan but don't see how it's any more sinister than NATO.Re: Looks like Clegg and others have been telling lies about EU Army
HiRe: Looks like Clegg and others have been telling lies about EU Army
I agree with your last sentence Swimmy. As soon as I see a link posted to the Express or Mail, i dont even look at it as I know that it will be heavily biased. They are the reason I no longer buy newspapers, preferring to take my sources from a wider field.Re: Looks like Clegg and others have been telling lies about EU Army
With one lad in the army I've been alarmed at many reports from the eu, I truly think we have enough armies in the world but we aren't looking after our own properly and instead of making a new one we need to look after ones we already have. So happy we won't be funding this as I can't imagine how our army would feel if we had money for that and not for them.Re: Looks like Clegg and others have been telling lies about EU Army
The bottom line, while ever we remain in the EU, is that we are contractually bound by the Lisbon Treaty to make our military services available to the EU for it's own agendas. i.e. Yes, the EU Army.Re: Looks like Clegg and others have been telling lies about EU Army

Forgive me Swim, what I read in the treaty does not agree with that at all. Allow me to cite the references:
