Oh I'm fine I bounce back stitches out I can at last wash up without gloves again. Takes more than an out of control pooch to stop me.

I'm not even barking at dogs

Re: Poor Elsie's ordeal

It really upset Elsie I think her eyesight issues made it an ordeal for her. I was surprised as she was with people she loves and is used to going away to the caravan so I thought she'd take it in her stride. Betty wasn't bothered she had her bed and regular meals nothing much upsets her.

Julie it is not the same as having you there though is it however well she knows the people. Dogs like us vary a lot in personality and although most do adapt to new circumstance in time some don't cope well without 'their person'.

Have you been watching Paul O'Grady's programme from Battersea , it's so sad to see just how much some dogs miss their owners

Re: Poor Elsie's ordeal

I agree with Meg.
When I wasn't too good a year or so back, a friend offered to take the dogs for a quick walk for me. My 'Mups', the oldest one, sat down and refused to even go over the front door step without me. Gertie would be just the same.

Three of my old GSD boys wouldn't even eat if I wasn't there. Wouldn't touch a thing.

It's all very nice in a way, but it is a big responsibility when they are so dependent, and it does worry me what would happen to them if I wasn't around.

Re: Poor Elsie's ordeal

I'm afraid I'm a believer death isn't the worse a dog can suffer, if anything happened to my husband Elsie may have to go as she's ok indoors with me but quite simply adores him, she will only really walk happily with him, eats from me if I'm only choice but she's by his side as soon as he comes in and won't really take notice of the rest of us. She's his dog by choice we bought her for me and she took one look at him and fell in love ! He's like that very lovable

Glad she's bouncing back.
