Hi

Not just schools, all rail travel here has now been stopped, no trains in or out of Shrewsbury.

The local school in the village is still open, but Jakob's Special School in Shrewsbury has been closed.

Apparently there is gridlock in the town, completely stupid.

But I have to be fair, there are different types of snow.
You're probably getting that heavy, wet stuff, which is slippery. Even us old seasoned northerners don't like that.
Be careful out there. Be safe.

lovemyboys and Norway ... I know, we see snow over here and we freeze into instant snowmen with fright.
We're just not used to dealing with the stuff.

I'm not too far down the road from Swims and I was expecting to see a blanket of snow this morning (I slept with a snow shovel under the bed ready) ..... what did I find?
Not even enough to make one good snowball.
Presumably it's still on it's way. At 1 degree it is a little fresh out there.

Re: Snow on the way.

No snow here but there is plenty in other parts of Scotland.

It's just achingly cold. This will only last for a few days though 'til the temperature rises to a more seasonable and average 6C.

Well it would seem ridiculous to someone in Norway which has a much colder climate. What made you move there in the first place? Do you disparage weather for people living in the Carribean for suffering such hot conditions?

I say this as someone who hates snow.

More due over the weekend.
