Moon or No Moon?

I'm working on this oil painting of a night sky. I'm debating about adding a moon. What do you think?

Hmm, that was no good. The colors are more like this cloesup, but you get the idea. I'll put up another when it's done.

Yes, I think a discreet moon with wisps of cloud blowing across it would be good.

You're very clever surfermom.

I would like to see a small moon. I think it would help to show the vastness of the landscape and the feeling of isolation. Great painting SM, the pinkish cloud is superb.

As a source of light in the landscape then yes, perhaps as Mups suggests diffused through the clouds.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Good points! It's also lacking a true focal point so a moon it is.

What an amazing picture Surfermom very atmospheric .
I think a moon would be good if you don't like it you can always over paint.

Moon added with some adjustmets to make now.....I am grateful for your input. Sometimes you stare at something so you get lost.

Muddy, you are kind - your talent and skill exceed mine tenfold.
