He had parvo, all the litter had it,it was in the soil at my mates house from a previous dog they owned.
It was 1986,i was off work, had my kneecaps removed and did not have a plastic card or cheque account, but i had money in savings bond certificates,i offered these to the vet,$1000, more than enough,he refused them because they were in my name and i could only cash them at a bank.
It was Saturday morning,no banks open,he took Jim and promised to help him and i would be there Monday at 10:30 with cash money,he was a grumpy hum and ahh type bloke,i phoned Sunday morning and no answer,i went around there and got the after hours number and the lady i spoke to said they put Jim to sleep,i asked why,she said the vet said to he was too sick to save,i asked when he was put asleep, she said on Saturday morning when i left the surgery,i asked why,she said the vet said i had asked for him to be put down??
I dident and i really had the shits,i could of killed him,i really could of throttled this bloke, all the pups had parvo, all were saved except Jim,i saw him on Monday and they called the police, they come to my house later, and warned me to not contact him and gave me a court order paper to keep me away, bloody dog prick!

Another poem.

Mmmm

They drive big cars
and drink champagne,
they send girls out
to learn the game.

Their clothes are pressed
their nails are clean,
the poor look on at
the rich mans scene.

They look at the
pricks of society.

Re: One of my Aussie Poems: Southern Cross.

She Slowly Turns..(about suicide)

She slowly turns from the world of
pain, remembering well her life of fear,
no more will lucid dreams reveal
the sacred sounds of natures jeer.

But like the breeze that blows the
word, that silent voice that tells her true,
it whispers softly to her soul, fear
not sweet child the soft wind blew.

Her soul release was soft and sweet,
the golden touch of love worked well,
she'd never thought while on this earth,
never thought this earth was hell.

She hears the sound, the sound of life,
a life she hates,a life of sin,a
gentle touch in a secret place and
the second chance did then begin.

She goes back now to the earthly plane,
to live a life of peace and love,a
second chance the true law gives,a
selfless gift from those above.

Then she hears a sound,a lowly hum,
the lifeforce stirs inside her brain,
she lifts her arms from the pools of blood,
then she cries alone, she cries with shame.

Re: One of my Aussie Poems: Southern Cross.

I wrote this poem for my Mother when dad died in 1986,i gave it to her at his funeral!
Its not brilliant but she appreciated it!

"Never Forget To Remember"

Never forget the way i looked
when we said our last goodbye,
and remember all the goodtimes
when the sad times make you cry.
And if it makes you sad to think
of me,in the solitude of night,
then remember me at sunrise,
in the golden morning light.

Remember me as the man i was
with dignity and grace,
remember me when the tears
well up,the smile upon my face.
And remember what you meant
to me,right from the very start,
remember your the one i chose
to you I gave my heart.

And never forget to call my name
whenever you feel me near,
and dont be afraid of the lonely
nights,when thoughts turn into fear.
The portal thats between us now
Is a God created door,where
I'll keep a silent vigil,till
we meet again once more.

And always remember what God
creates, also gives the right to take,
and no one knows anothers thoughts
and no one leaves here by mistake.
And age means nought when the
life force dims, and the silver cord
reels in the soul, and severs quick
these Earthly ties,and shatters
quick the Golden bowl.
