Re: Overwhelming waves of grief.

I count myself fortunate I have never had the feeling of grief, even when the grandmother, of whom I was very fond, died in 1980. I just felt relief, that she didn't linger after a devastating stroke which would have left her incapable of doing anything for herself. To my grandmother that would have been a fate much worse than death.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

I'm so sorry to all who have felt the devastatingly painful feeling of grief. Tara, you are very fortunate because it truly is the worst feeling in the world.

I can imagine it must be, it must have been awful for you.

''Overwhelming waves of grief''.

LQ in my experience that never goes away you just get better at coping with it.

There are things I won't allow myself to think about to deeply, they are just too painful so I have put them in a special box in my memory and just take a peep at them occasionally.

Wow! Never felt the feelings of grief? I didn’t think this was even possible except from psychopaths since they do not have the ability to feel empathy. Not saying you are one. I’m just sayin’

I agree. This is how I deal with deep feelings of grief. It gets put away. Compartmentalized.

Re: Overwhelming waves of grief.

I know exactly how you are feeling, I lost both my parents within 6 months of each other. Grief is such a personal thing ,something that one has to work through over time.
You need to talk about it as much as possible, even to strangers, it does help, keeping it to yourself is about the worst thing you can do. It helped me

I agree. I often stuff feelings of grief away which isn’t a healthy way of dealing with them.

I can't help the way I feel. I don't think I am a psycho, I haven't murdered anyone yet, I will keep you posted though.

That’s ok. I’ll just keep one eye open at all times.
