There is a traffic light controlled crossroads that I regularly use where, when I am turning right I always stop about half a car length from the line because I know there are frequent lorries coming out of a nearby scrapyard who struggle to get by if you pull up to the line. I very often look in the mirror and see people waving their arms about at me, does another 5 feet of road matter that much to them?

Re: Road Rager?

You would be surprised at the road rage I have to put up with when out driving my Lotus Exige sport. Anyone would think men were jealous.

The poor woman must have felt really intimidated and there just wasn't any need for such road rage as she had had plenty of time to pull out? It was totally ridiculous and totally uncalled for.

Are you a angry driver or do you keep your cool.

By the way, I saw her hand come out of her car window and give him the feck off sign, good for her!

I wanted to shout to him, "whats up love, had no sex for a while" Seriously though, it really wasn't a joking matter, I really felt for that poor woman. What is the matter with some drivers!
Presumably, he was driving a BMW.

Re: Road Rager?

The other week I was at the local tip, now called a recycling park. I pulled into a parking space to deposit my recycling, I got yelled at by a guy in a large 4x4. He said I was blocking his exist, which I definitely wasn't, he had plenty of room to reverse. He called me all the names under the sun, I just carried on putting the thing in the skip and when I had finished I told him nursie would make it better soon, and waved goodbye.

Re: Road Rager?

Some folks are annoying though, there is a road with a 50 mph speed limit that leads to our village. There is a junction to the right of the main drag, which, if you have given way at, you have a good 500 metres of vision each way, the number of times (in just the past month) I am on the main carriage way, and spot someone sitting at the give way lines, they wait and wait, until I get about 20 metres from the junction, the they pull out in front, a couple of weeks ago, I had to brake so hard, the ABS system deployed, then, after causing a near miss, they make no attempt to accelerate, to minimise the amount of breaking required, Grrrr.

Especially annoying when there is nothing behind you and they could have waited the extra few seconds.

That thought occurred to me, it seems these folks are vey uncertain, they must look left see me 500 metres away, look right, nothing, look left again to make sure, by which time I'm now 250 metres away, look right, nothing, pull out, now I'm 50 meters away, the decision to go was made 3 or 4 seconds ago followed by constant rechecking, wait one more second, and the road would be clear both ways.

I just remembered, the really close shave went like this, I am following a car on said stretch of road, approaching the junction in question, the car in front indicates right to turn into the offending side road, there is a chevroned white slip road painted onto the tarmac allowing vehicles continuing straight on, to pass on the inside unimpeded, when the vehicle turning right entered the slip area, he must have flashed the car waiting to enter the carriage way to go first, which he did, straight in front of me, I stood on the brakes, and came to a complete halt, thank goodness I was periodically shocked, or there might have been some rage.

I used to have a Renault 5 GT Turbo. I often got challenged in that but I'd quietened down since my boy racer days and got fed up with it. Got a more sensible (for me) Ford Escort Ghia Estate Car in the end.
