Anyway I m glad to hear you're not heading for Old Codgerdom, too many of them around as it is

70 is just a stupid number, any birthday cards with The Number on the front get put on the mantlepiece face to the wall

It takes a while to get used to turning 70 until realising that it hasn't made any difference. It's general condition and energy levels that really count. That's likely to be just about the same as it was when 68 or 69.

Clearly you haven't visited Eastbourne Ruth darlin' - 'God's waiting room' is a very apt description for that town. Further west along the coast there is Peacehaven otherwise known as Gerratrica-on-sea.

We lived in Eastbourne for 9 months in 2005, both my husband and I disliked the place, and couldn't wait to get back home.
