The Ants are coming.

Hot weather could see an early arrival of this yearly pest.

They nest under my front door step but it was suggested to me to spray WD40 around the bottom of the door and it stops them coming inside, it works!

I pour boiling water over them, that usually does the trick.

Are you sure it was a flying ant?

flying ants all swarm on the same day - hundreds and thousands - probably millions of them, we all get them the same time

To be fare, my car was covered with tiny flies Saturday but they were flies and not ants

Re: The Ants are coming.

My husband was told to puff Derris powder into a wasps nest
[ waiting till the wasps had flown out first] that worked so I guess it will work for ANTS

Re: The Ants are coming.

Well whatever it was it bit me

Actually I checked out about flying ants found this...

The day when the majority of these ants are seen has been called ‘flying ant day’, though not all ants will fly on the same day. When they fly depends on their location and the local weather, the species, and a number of other factors.

Actually though Missy I just assumed it was a flying ant.. no idea really

Re: The Ants are coming.

Find ant holes (there's always more than one!!!) block up with cigarette butts the holes you find, save one. Pour parafin down that hole and light it!!! This will not only destroy this years 'flying ants', but destroy the nest too so there won't be anymore next year either!!!
