My Grandson (16 next month) is studying Music and plays guitar 60s/70s is best according to him latest required learning is Led Zeppalin's Stairway to heaven.

This thread is interesting because it proves something I always say about the sixties. People who weren't there seem to agree that everyone who lived through the sixties were the same, listened to the same music, read the same books, wore the same clothes etc. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Cinderella's choice of a Matt Monro song is a good example of this. I wouldn't have been seen dead listening to Matt Monro, preferring Frank Zappa or The Pretty Things. Someone else above loved Donovan, who I thought was dreadful. The sixties were just like any other decade lots of people whjo liked lots of different things.

Mick - you say the 60s were like any other decade - lots of people 'who liked different things' .... thats just it - there was 'so much' choice.
