I think Laurie a derivation of Lawrence is a good name.
Names are subjective and down to personal preference

Names go through stages of being fashionable or not , as long as names are not of the 'made up' variety beloved by the US, usually feminine and spreading here they are fine by me

Knew a lad called Colin Bowlox, he was so fed up of having the mickey taken continuously because of his name that when he reached 18 he changed it by deed poll to Andrew...... Sorry!

That's what I like about the name. I've always been a Mick, never a Mike (which was lucky as my best mate was known as Mike). The only person ever to call me Michael was my mum when I'd been naughty!!!

I had a great uncle Percy.
He was the black sheep of the family.
I never met him, not sure if anyone did.
My dad let on years ago he thought he'd behaved inappropriately...Do I have a kiddy fiddler skeleton in my cupboard??? Eeeek
