My years spent with my parents were not the best years of my life.I left home at twenty after getting married. The best thing that I ever did. I loved my husband very much, lost him very recently and had almost fifty very good years together.

I left home aged 14 ...I went to live with my sister for a while she is 4 years older than me and had just got married.Mum was a difficult person she managed to alienate everyone in her life....when I left home there was a new man (Eddy) and I felt in the way...anyway Eddy commited suicide sometime later...very sad.
I think you could say I came from a dysfunctional family. I realise now all these years later that mum had mental health problems....sad that back then they were not identified or taken seriously.

I was 15 when I left home to work in a famous kennel of Airedale and Lakeland terriers. My wage was £1 a week and my 'keep' a shared bedroom. We kennel maids were poorly fed, the dogs ate better than we did .All I had in the world was the tiny case with a change of clothing.
Life at home with my stepmother had become unbearable so I made the decision to leave. Life was very hard but I was not a complainer and I stuck it out
