Good God. So NZ has been conquered even before the UK!

So one less suitable place to emigrate to.

Re: France is right to ban the Burkini

Not too hard too seek out facts these days.

Unlike barbaric Jewish methods, animals can be stunned prior to slaughter and remain halal.

Meat Industry Association of New Zealand (Inc)
" It is compulsory for all animals to be stunned before commercial slaughter in New Zealand.
What about exemptions for halal slaughter?
In New Zealand there is no exemption to the requirement for pre-slaughter stunning, unlike in some other countries."

Re: France is right to ban the Burkini

Your obvious anti Jewish snipes are wasted on me Pums.
I am against all cruelty to animals from whatever sky fairy adherents .
Indeed i doubt that farming methods in outback stations always comply with proper standards and i am sure that barbaric could well apply to them too.
However its worth noting that the Jewish community is the only community within Australia whose places of worship, schools, communal organisations and community centres, for security reasons, operate under protective measures such as high fences, armed guards, metal detectors, CCTV cameras and the like. The necessity arises from the incidence of physical attacks against Jews and Jewish communal buildings over the last three decades.

Australia must be proud .
But then it is a country where the most disadvantaged people in the land are the rightful owners - the indigenous Australians.

I'm not sure conquered is the word, they took a purely pragmatic approach to a business opportunity, they export so much to Muslim countries they can make more money this way.

As long as they are dead that is the important fact.
Meanwhile the live meat to the Middle East and other Mainly Islamic countries where they are grossly mistreated before slaughter continues to flourish in Australia .
The conditions and treatment of the animals is horrendous .
These poor creatures truly suffer the descent into hell.

I'm not happy about live exports anywhere, sat in roads trying to stop our calves going to Europe where they would be treated very badly to make veal.

Re: France is right to ban the Burkini

The transport of live animals to the Middle East is hellish.
They are crammed on ships ( many mercifully die of thirst and heat on the passage) On arrival some are taken to the slaughterhouses sheep arr often just chucked off the ships and people take them away in the boot of their cars to kill at home or small butchers one assumes.
The fate of cattle is totally horrendous as they are often hacked about before death which does not come quickly or easily.

That's a bit naughty of them but better for the animals obviously.
