Re: Parents

I've often regretted not having had a good relationship with my parents, but we were simply not on the same wavelength. They wanted everything their way, but I was always too much my own person.

Re: Parents

I've noticed a couple of people have mentioned they're not close with their siblings & I am the same. It's really a shame.
We used to be a close family but after my mom died, no more. I haven't seen or spoken with any of the 4 of them since 2008.

I don't miss them in a conscious way but subconsciously I guess I do. Oh well.

Re: Parents

I've always been aware that not every family are close. You don't actually need to like your family. They may be so different from you in personality. Doesn't mean you don't feel anything for them, just means you are different personalities.

Don't feel bad anyone who feels like this. You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family. Some of my family are completely different from me and we have little in common. So what? We both live our lives in our own ways. Never feel bad because of this. Every family is the same.
