'Lionesses' through to semi-final.

The England ladies team beat France 1-0 yesterday which puts them through to the semi-final of Euro 17.

The Lionesses secured a semi-final against hosts the Netherlands as they finally overcame Les Bleues, who had beaten them in the past three major tournaments.

The result means England are now the highest-ranked team left in the competition following Denmark's shock victory over Germany, the winners of the past six European Championships.

Well done! I hope the men's team were watching and were taking notes.

Its a fine game LD and its great to finally see the ladies getting the recognition they deserve.
Especially now I have a couple of grand daughters that want to be footballers.

I agree. We should encourage them to do whatever they want in life.

The real "Lionesses" - the Red Roses (England's Women's Rugby Team) have reached the final of the Rugby Womens World Cup where they will defend their Championship against New Zealand's Black Ferns. This is likely to be an awesome match between the two best Womens Rugby teams in the world. Kick-off is at 19.45 on Saturday evening at Kingspan Stadium, Belfast. England has probably the best defence in the competition, and the Ferns, with the amazing Portia Woodman probably the best attack. Should be a fantastic game and, hopefully, England will just edge it and retain their title. Live on ITV1.....
Let's hope we'll see this scene again after Saturday's final

What an excellent match last night. At half time it looked as though they could come through, but the Kiwis were just too dominant in the second half. Women's rugby is on the up.
