What a lovely night out !
Met up with friends for a meal in our favourite restaurant.http://www.theolivetreeyork.co.uk/
The food was sublime, the service attentive but not intrusive.
We all choose different dishes - and all agree they were delicious.
My choices:-
Starter = Sautéed wild mushrooms with shallots,
Stilton cheese and homemade bread
Main = Butterfly chicken topped with Parma ham
served with a pesto sauce, broccoli, carrots and roast potatoes
Pudding = Panna cotta served with strawberries and strawberry ice cream with strawberry jus.
When they saw us opening birthday cards/gifts they stuck mini 'roman candles' in the panna cotta !!

Thank you everyone - it was indeed a lovely night out.The restaurant describes it's food as 'Mediterranean Cuisine' and is a mixture of Greek and Italian with, maybe a little Turkish influence as well. The staff are certainly multinational - the manager and one of the waiters are from Bangladesh, our waitress for night was Italian, the head chef is Italian and the sous chef is French.
My friends loved my new outfit and it did feel good - but - when I look at the photos I can't help thinking it is time to wear sleeves !

I looked at the link to the restaurant it looks lovely actually we have an Olive Tree in Headingley Leeds but I don't think it's the same owners but similar type food. Glad you had a good time
