Does anyone on here use fb or Twitter or Snapchat or Instagram or Whatsapp or blogging????

I keep in touch with what is going on in the lives of friends and family world wide, I use specialist groups - hens for example, I buy and sell very successfully on there as well

I have a fb profile missy but it remains deactivated most if the time
I made the mistake of befriending everyone and anyone on there...
Even exes...not a good idea

I think I might try to set up a more businesslike one...or limit "friends" to family and close friends only

FB. Twitter I dip my toe in occasionally if I remember, but not the others.

Rhian, FB has made things a lot easier to use and protect your privacy

I used to play a FB game which needed FB friends so I befriended a lot of people I didn't know. What you can do is separate groups of friends. So I have those friends in a group and all they can see on my FB page are game posts. They cant see anything else. My real life friends and family are in another group, they get to see what I post and what details I leave open

The user groups and selling pages I use have no access to my profile at all and can only send a message via the group pages

FB has got a lot of bad press over the years but it really is a good tool to have, as long as you familiarise yourself with the settings and use the tools they give you to protect yourself online.

I look in on fb to see what is happening locally but don't post anything.

I have a drawing game and a Scrabble game that I play with random users as I haven't got fb so this sounds like a great idea

My sons and daughter know about everything locally
Even Aidan who now lives in Manchester!
I feel so out of the loop at times

Its worth spending an hour or so going through the settings and seeing what does what.

I used an old fashioned pen and paper to sort my lists out before I assigned them groups. Some people cross over so need to be added to one or two groups but once its sorted and you have groups, when you add someone new, it will ask which group of friends to add it to

And don't be afraid to block and delete people. I even blocked my sister for a year as she was doing my head in with her posts lol

I have never understood Twitter
