13 monkeys die after fire breaks out at Woburn Safari Park

Another fire with tragic consequences. Such a lot of fires recently.

I don't know Julie, but there do seem to be so many fires recently it makes you wonder what is happening.

It does seem a bit strange doesn't it. I have been to Woburn and they appear take great care of the animals there.

I can't imagine the terror these animals must feel if they are trapped in a cage or any area when there is a fire coming at them. Poor, poor monkeys.

I can't think why all these fires are breaking out .

Regardless of the cause, those who keep animals in pens, cages or enclosed areas have a higher responsibility in ensuring their safety in the event of a disaster.

There should be an investigation post haste.

I doubt they have mains water anywhere near that enclosure.
I wonder if some of these fires have been caused by energy saving light bulbs? I do know of several stable fires caused by them.
