Mortgages

Does anyone know if it's possible to sell one mortgaged property and buy another property and just transfer the mortgage from one to another.................or do you need to reapply for the mortgage and more specifically, do you need to specific you're in good health?

Re: Mortgages

Thanks very much for that. Not good news though as the article specifies you have to re-apply for a Mortgage. My daughter needs to move from a first floor flat to something more disabled friendly as she has MS. Re-applying for her mortgage is out as her earnings have dropped from working in the oil industry to low grade clerical, which is all she can manage.

Re: Mortgages

Sorry to hear about your daughter Lindylou. Would she be able to get any help with housing because of her ill health. Some schemes will allow a person to buy a percentage of the house and rent the rest. Also I wonder if there is any housing in her area which is specifically designed or adapted so people can live independently. There must be something which could help locally. I hope she manages to find something suitable. She has a good start if she already has some capital in her house.

Re: Mortgages

Thanks for your post. It looks like being a very long, hard, struggle to get anywhere!
