Re: We made or own fun.
As a child growing up post war and in poverty, I did not have toys as such. Most of my days were spent playing outdoors, roaming the countryside for the entire day, exploring and climbing trees. When obliged to be indoors, then play consisted of homemade entertainment, reading, playing cards and board games.Re: We made or own fun.
Having 5 brothers and a sister we always made up our own games , I was actually given a doll for Christmas I can still see her now , she was my only toy . We played skipping , hopscotch , dens , cowboys and Indians and all kinds of fun and mischief. We climbed trees too .Re: We made or own fun.
I liked sitting on someone’s shoulders, l would put a long coat on and we’d knock on doors for a laugh.Re: We made or own fun.
I remember having such fun playing hopscotch, tying a rope to lampist and playing skipping games, playing in the Tarzan swing in the woods with a big group of friends, making a den with coats thrown over mums winter edge, hide and seek, playing elastics, leap frog, doing cartwheels and handstands, fishing for newts and tadpoles, playing rounders, putting a tennis ball in one of mums nylon stockings and standing against a wall throwing over my shoulders and in middle of legs, oh the list is endless but I have such fond memories of childhood games. I.m so glad I was a child in the 60s and not a child if today.Re: We made or own fun.
