Re: Will you bother to vote tomorrow?

You should vote, make your displeasure/dislike of the big boys known , by voting for some small independant party not likely to get in.if more people did this it would shake the big parties up,get them to realise voters are getting fed up with them

Going back, i think it was even before i was old enough to vote. We had Harold Wilson for our MP, and among the small independants that stood against him, on more than one occaision, was Screaming Lord Sutch and his monster raving looney party. I believe he still holds the record in the Guiness Book of Records as the independant with the most failed elections.

I sent off my postal vote last week. I would never not vote. You cant complain about the government we get, if you cant be bothered to vote.

With which I agree,

However, it would be a case of voting for the lesser of two or three evils, as they are all bloody useless......

I will vote, I wouldn't dream of not voting, but until I get in that booth I just don't know.

Re: Will you bother to vote tomorrow?

I always vote. The right to vote was hard come by so those that waste that opportunity are pissing on the graves of those who fought for the right.

Irrespective that the vote tomorrow will be for local councils, if Labour should emerge as having the control of most councils the outcome will be seen as a barometer for public opinion on the state of Westminster. I can see it now, Jezbollah Corbyn crowing and using a good Labour result as a tool for even more sniping at the government. For that reason alone, I will vote for any candidate other than Labour. (Or the Limp-Dems if it comes to that). Looks like it could be a choice between UKIP or the Tories but some independents are in the field.

Re: Will you bother to vote tomorrow?

Our vote in Doncaster tomorrow will be to elect a new mayor.
The new mayor will cover Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster.....Considering the population of Doncaster (150,000) compared to these large cities and towns, my vote will have the same effect as a thimble full of red dye tossed into the sea....However, I will always vote for UKIP or an independant, should they field a candidate....

That's what I'm getting at. Yes people died for the vote but what's the point if the result can be overturned?
