Re: The Ashes.

Mrs LDs said the other day that she would quite like to watch the Ashes and get into cricket a bit. I suggested she should wait until the next one.

She'd probably be able to play for her country.

Re: The Ashes.

Sad result, but waste of time trying to lay blame . The Australians were just too good on their own ground. They are used to fast hard wickets,we are not. It could probably be a different result on U k wickets, but in this case the best team won. I feel sorry for the players when I read some of the daily press reports. There is not one of the team that didnt try, and I have great respect for the bowlers particularly Anderson, I think he bowled his heart out.
Its pointless the armchair critics say it would have been different with Stokes, he wouldnt have made the difference between winning and loosing

Re: The Ashes.

You can either win or lose!! If the other side is better than you you lose. Nobody gives up. There are ways in which the English Batsmen might do better, thats if they were able to have 2 months practice on Australian wickets against the speed of Australian bowlers .
Cricket is no different than Football, if the other side is a lot better or just have a couple of players that can dominate the game then the side without them loses no matter how hard they try.

Well sometimes in football ( no I'm not a fan) , one side can be dominant but the other side can score a goal through a bit of luck or a refs decision, going against the run of play, not sure if that happens in cricket though
