Lizard

This morning we discovered a small lizard in our sunroom, we have never seen a native one before. I took a photo of it and went out for my walk asking my husband to keep an eye on it whilst I decided what to do with it, SILLY ME!!!! He forgot and it had disappeared by I got back home, so it could be anywhere in the house!!!!!

Re: Lizard

I wonder where he/she came from. Do you live near water, T, or have a pond in the garden?

It is probably still in the sunroom, looking for warmth to recharge it's body, so I expect you will see it again.

We don't have a garden pond but there is one in a copse the other side of our garden wall.

Unfortunately the sunroom is linked to the kitchen, I hope to goodness this lizard doesn't get into any of the cupboards, it would be just like my husband to leave them open. He isn't always on message having only half a working brain.

Re: Lizard

In my last house there were what I thought were lizards in my garden turns out they were newts from the pond next door. I had been telling people about the lizards I felt daft when I was told they were newts.

Yours looks like a proper lizard Tara.i didn't know we had native ones in the UK.

Re: Lizard

I don't think they would do any harm in a house and would probably wander out again in time. Fascinating creatures.

Re: Lizard

I will hazard a guess that this is a young Common (Viviparus Lizard)

It could be a baby one of these, in which case Tarantula will need to make some room in her kitchen cupboards.
