Mine was like that before we married thankfully he became less unhappy at home once we had a home of our own. I've even persuaded him more recently that 40 hours a week is enough and he should have fun at home more.

We have always owned our own homes. My husband was enjoying himself, he liked working at home doing work of an academic nature, which has always been by far his greatest love. I knew that when I married it, it didn't bother me at all. It is so sad he can't do it now, due to his extensive brain damage.

Oh, Tara, I didn't know that. Life must be challenging for you.
You still have memories to treasure.

Re: That Friday Feeling

This morning I sighed with relief I didn't have to go out and de ice the car at 7 am to get to work . I listened to the younger neighbours scraping and spraying and I said thank God I'm old and retired

I certainly have some good memories of times past. I would prefer it if my husband wasn't brain damaged and he was the way he was before his illness. He was always in charge of our business affairs, which is down to me now, which is definitely challenging. Fortunately our eldest girl has her Father's former business brain, and sorts me out if I am too challenged.

Re: That Friday Feeling

When l was about 19 or 20, I used to really look forward to Friday!
Rushing out of work to get home to get ready to meet my friends.

We’d hitch a lift over to Stratford Upon On Avon, to go the discotheque at the Drake Rooms.

We’d each buy, a barley wine and dance to music by Junior Walker, the Four Tops, Temptations, Lee Dorsey, Spencer Davis and many more.

When l was married and the children were young, we looked forward to and loved our ‘Friday Steak Night’ at home.
My husband would always say, TGIF

I remember that beautiful Friday feeling..especially because I would leave at noon if things were caught up at the office.

Re: That Friday Feeling

I still get that Friday feeling

Best is knowing that if you pull your finger out, you finish at 2pm as we did today

I don't think I'll be retiring so I think I've a lot more Friday feelings to come
