Off to the Gulf...

Off to the Gulf for six months:
My son's ship, HMAS Anzac, sailed yesterday to replace HMAS Melbourne on counter-terrorism and security efforts as part of Operation Slipper and the Combined Maritime Force (CMF), he will return on Australia Day 2013.

No, I didn't take that photo it came from the Navy web site but it is free to download and use. I couldn't afford the helicopter, my photos are more mundane - taken from the wharf.

The ship is in the Great Australian Bight and will call into Perth to refuel before it sets off across the Indian Ocean.
