I Googled the address + phishing which is what I suspected it was..

I have. The link only says that the email address was reported just like you have done now but no confirmation of whether it was spam or phishing.

In any event, just delete it.

Generally speaking you can view any email because it is a long time since any mailreader or browser automatically opened any attachments.

As long as you do not click on any links you are pretty safe. Your antivirus software should report on and isolate any dodgy attachments.

If you hover (do not click)your cursor over any links it will show where they will send you in the status bar.

If you are really not sure just ring the company concerned and ask them.

I can't get to my emails at the moment so I can't back up what I am about to say but I think I normally right click on the message then select 'reply.' The message comes up with actually opening it.
