Well, now I know - about the noble neep.
Will try it.
Still reckon the best mushies are the ones which pop up a day or two after rain on the grassy foreshore between my house and the beach.
Surprising I guess because it's sandy soil but loaded with roo-poo so I guess the original spores could have come from anywhere.
Perfectly natural - none of this cultivated, commercial muck probably laced with chemicals.
I de-stalk and "skin" them and wash them in milk for cooking (with butter, salt and ground pepper).
And they're FREE.
Should I not get enough, a friend has a large dairy farm not far away which is always productive too.
